Cookie policy

This site sets no cookies at all unless you accept analytics. If you reject, or never answer the banner, nothing is stored on your device beyond a single record of that choice.

One item is stored regardless of your choice: sns-consent (local storage) — remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics, so we stop asking. Expires when you clear your browser data.

This is not a cookie and is not sent to any server. It never leaves your browser.

_ga (Google Analytics) — distinguishes one visitor from another. Expires 2 years.

_ga<property id> (Google Analytics) — keeps session state. Expires 2 years.

Until you accept, Google Analytics is not loaded — the script is never added to the page and no request is made to Google's analytics servers. We use Google Consent Mode with every storage type denied by default.

The site loads its typefaces from Google's font servers. That is not a cookie, but it does mean your IP address reaches Google when the page loads, and it happens regardless of your analytics choice. [TO FILL: this paragraph comes out if you self-host the fonts, which removes the request entirely]

Use the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page. You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser, which resets everything.
